چکیده
BackgroundDuring colorectal cancer surgery, the immune-modulating effects of inhalation anaesthesia may create a favourable environment for metastasis formation, leading to increased risk recurrence. Our aim was assess association between vs intravenous and recurrence in patients undergoing surgery.MethodsPatients surgery 2004–18 were identified Danish Colorectal Cancer Group Database Anaesthesia Database. After exclusion with residual tumour registered postoperative pathology reports, local endoscopic resections, stent insertions, we classified according exposure anaesthesia. The primary outcome (time recurrence), whereas secondary outcomes all-cause mortality death) disease-free survival either or death). Events death using Civil Registration System, National Pathology Registry, Patient Registry. sub-distribution hazards approach used estimate hazard ratios (HRs) recurrence, Cox regression survival.ResultsWe 5238 exposed 6322 Propensity score matching yielded 4347 individuals each group balanced baseline covariates. We found weak (HR=1.12; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.02–1.23). HR estimates 1.00 (95% CI, 0.93–1.07) 1.04 0.98–1.11) respectively.ConclusionExposure associated after surgery.

Preoperative aspirin use and acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery: A propensity-score matched observational study
BACKGROUND The association between preoperative aspirin use and postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) in cardiovascular surgery is unclear. We sought to evaluate the effect of preoperative aspirin use on postoperative AKI in cardiac surgery. METHODS A total of 770 patients who underwent cardiovascular surgery under cardiopulmonary bypass were reviewed. Perioperative clinical parameters incl...
متن کاملInhalation versus intravenous anaesthesia for day surgery
Opinion is often fiercely divided over the relative merits of intravenous or inhaled anaesthesia for day case procedures. Advocates of intravenous anaesthesia claim superior recovery and minimal side effects, yet inhalational agents remain popular and are widely used for their excellent operative conditions and low costs. This review will consider the recent evolution in both inhalation and int...
متن کاملRecovery after total intravenous general anaesthesia or spinal anaesthesia for total knee arthroplasty: a randomized trial.
BACKGROUND This study was undertaken to compare the effects of general anaesthesia (GA) and spinal anaesthesia (SA) on the need for postoperative hospitalization and early postoperative comfort in patients undergoing fast-track total knee arthroplasty (TKA). METHODS One hundred and twenty subjects were randomly allocated to receive either intrathecal bupivacaine (SA group) or GA with target c...
متن کاملLiver disease and 30-day mortality after colorectal cancer surgery: a Danish population-based cohort study
BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer (CRC) is common, with surgery as the main curative treatment. The prevalence of chronic liver disease has increased, but knowledge is limited on postoperative mortality in patients with liver disease who undergo CRC surgery. Hence, we examined 30-day mortality after CRC surgery in patients with liver disease compared to those without liver disease. METHODS We used...

PURPOSE OF REVIEW The purpose of the present review is to provide an updated discussion on the use of total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) for ambulatory surgery, based on results from recent studies put into the context of issues already known. RECENT FINDINGS The current use of TIVA for ambulatory surgery seems to be abundant. It is encouraged by the simplicity of the method, increased expe...
